2. What is biogeochemical cycle? Describe the role of cyanobacteria in this cycle in nature. **5**

3. (a) Explain the term Biodiversity in accordance with convention of biological diversity, 1992. **2½**
    (b) A typical tree provides $1982200 worth of oxygen, clean air, fertile soil, erosion control, water recycling, wild life habitat, toxic gas moderation etc. What is this known as in relation to biodiversity value?  **2½**

4. List the major causes and consequences of deforestation. **5**
